Harvesting Rapley Trail Vineyard

Harvest 2016 is coming to a close for Pinot Noir at Thomas Fogarty Winery in Santa Cruz Mountains.  The last pick at Rapley Trail Vineyard was harvested at 4AM on the morning of September 7th, followed by Windy Hill Vineyard the next morning.  The 6-acre Rapley Trail Vineyard was planted in 1981 on the Estate's rugged southeastern slopes.  The vineyard sits on fractured shale soils, approximately 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean and at an average elevation of 1650 feet.  The Pinot Noir planted in the vineyard is all Martini clone, and as is the case with the entire Estate, is farmed using organic practices.
